A sub domain is an easy way to create a memorable Web address for
unique content areas of your site. For example, you could create a sub
domain for pictures on your site called "pics" that is accessible through
the URL.  Sub domain also called Also a child domain, a domain that is
part of a larger domain name in DNS hierarchy. DNS hierarchy consists
of the root-level domain at the top, underneath which are the top-level
domains followed by second-level domains and finally sub domains. A
domain  is a second website, with its own unique content, but there is no
new domain name. Instead, you use an existing domain name and
change the www to another name. The sub domain name looks like
forums. The Domain Name System (DNS) has a tree structure or
hierarchy, with each non-RR (resource record) node on the tree being a
domain name. A sub domain is a domain that is part of a larger domain;
the only domain that is not also a sub domain is the root domain. Sub
domains in this context are defined by editing the DNS zone file
pertaining to the parent domain. However there is a lively debate over
the use of the term sub domain  when referring to names which map to
the Address record host and various other types of zone records which
may map to any public IP address destination and any type of server. It
is not always necessary to register a new domain name when the one you
already own will work perfectly fine. Rather than registering a new
domain name, you can always create a sub domain using a domain you
already own.
To create a subdomain:
1. Login to cPanel and click Subdomains.
2. In the drop-down, choose the domain.
3. In the box before the domain, type the subdomain name you want.
4. Click inside the "Document Root" box and it will auto-fill.
To delete a subdomain:
1. Login to cPanel and click Subdomains.
2. At the bottom, under Actions, click Remove.
3. Sub domain is like a linking to another domain
say for instance you type in  that is a domain a sub domain could be
in case someone typed without the second it would still point you to
the main domain, which is most often what sub domains are used for.
Sub domains are names that will point back to the primary domain. A
sub domain is a domain that is part of a larger domain; the only domain
that is not also a sub domain is the root domain. For example,
west.example.com and east.example.com are sub domains of the
example.com domain, which in turn is a sub domain of the com top-
level domain (TLD). sub domain is another domain of same domain. it
also act as full qualified domain also you can use it as like as main
domain.
